Across Poland with a backpacks
9 day, 6 city - Elblag, Malbork, Torun, Vloslavek, Plock, Olsztyn. The route chosen themselves, and corrected for the situation.
We had tested 2-year pondered option of maximal autonomous and lightweight travel across a city, in compliance with the two principle
- “less money - more travels”, and
- “study the culture - live in nature”.
To realize that we have found and bought the most compact tent, sleeping bags and backpacks, and onther equipment. It turned out quite well. Costs for the trip were very modest, only little more ~100 euro (420 zloty) for one person, without cost of visa (35 euro per person).
In a morning we locked backpacks into unattended luggage (“przechowalnia bagazu”), during a day traveled in a city, in a evening were taken backpacks and went to sleep out the city.
We were spending the night near (or on a shore) the river or laken. Poland is rich edge on beautiful lakes and rivers. You sit on a shore on a backpack, unhurriedly dine with watching the sunset, open a jar of like beer and look at the running river, and look a evening city…
Vistula was pretty fast, probably due to heavy rains this year. In Vistula little swam for a memory (Oh, very ancient tradition of ablution in a river :) ).
The main costs for the day - the road between the cities (20-40 PLN bus or train) and museums (10-30 PLN per ticket).
Dive in the culture for the first time is well enough. At the border when returning from an effort, I forced himself to the Russian border guards “Spasibo (Thank You)” instead of the usual jumped out from my “Dzenkue bardzo (Dziekuje bardzo)”. For the week have begun to build a more or less literate sentences in Polish.
People in Poland affable and calm. Beer, pastries and sausage very good, I write it as grown up on good quality Cossack kitchen :)
We really liked the hard work of the Poles to preserve their and Prussian culture. Many churches trace their history from the 12-15 centuries, magnificent and expensive finish which also restored over the centuries. We were fascinated by the beauty of the ancient temples.
People was often mistaken to cost our as travelled studients from some country, probably we a good fit to the images. It had helped to talk. 
Purpose of the travel fully achieved. Knowledge and experience had full obtained, even a bit more than we had time to take it.
